Sat 16 Mar 2019

The Analogues - THE WHITE ALBUM (REPRISE) The Analogues play Beatles albums in their entirety, from the very first to the very last note. Attempting to do so presents quite a challenge, especially in the case of The White Album: it is a double LP after all, containing roughly twice as much material. In addition, there are a number of tracks on it that you wouldn't exactly categorise as 'crowd pleasers'. Producer George Martin even suggested at the time that the group should 'kill their darlings' and put out a standard length LP. Fortunately, The Beatles stuck to their guns, and left us with what we consider to be a joyous and eclectic multitude of styles, which collectively lend this album its wonderfully unique character.

The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa

Where:
Kursaal Oostende
When:
Thu 16 May 2019

The Bizarre World Of Frank Zappa hologram tour comes to Ostend. The presentation comes out of a partnership formed in 2017 between the late guitarist’s estate, the Zappa Family Trust and hologram developers Eyellusion. Each show will feature footage of Frank Zappa, who died in 1993, performing live in the ’70s. Former Zappa band members guitarists Ray White and Mike Keneally, bassist Scott Thunes and multi-instrumentalists Robert Martin and Ed Mann will participate in the tour as will drummer and Zappa archivist Joe “Vaultmeister” Travers. “In 1974, Frank Zappa transformed his Los Angeles rehearsal space into a sound stage and cranked out a passionate, trademark performance seen only by the camera operators in the room who captured every last bizarrely beautiful moment. This footage, locked away in the Zappa vaults for 44 years, will serve as the basis for what will be the world’s most ambitious hologram tour to date, blending live footage of Frank with outrageous visuals that offer a striking view into his complex musical works.
