It is no longer necessary to put down your blue disc.

The zones have the following provisions:

  • In Raversijde, visitors are allowed to park for a maximum of 8 hours straight between 9 am and 8 pm. This does not apply to residents' card holders.
  • In Hendrik Baelskaai, you may park for a maximum of 3 hours straight between 9 am and 12 pm.

Parking info for owners of a second home

Second residents can park for free for the first 30 minutes in an official parking space on the public domain. This used to be done by means of a parking token, but from 1 January 2023 this will be replaced by a one-off digital registration. Only after you have completed this registration, you can park for free for 30 minutes. This can always be done by entering your number plate via the parking meter after you have parked. Second residents have until 31 January 2023 to register via the parking counter, but can already use the 30-minute free parking via the parking meter.

Parking with parking card for people with disabilities

Persons with a disability who have a valid parking card can - in addition to the reserved spaces - also park for free along the public road in the places where one normally has to pay, provided a onetime registration at the parking counter. Do take into account the specified duration that applies and places that are reserved for residential parking, healthcare providers or other specific indications on site.

This one-time registration of a parking card for persons with a disability should be done in the parking counter or via the digital counter.

Parking with a mobile home

In Ostend there are a few parking spaces for mobile homes:

  • Randparking Mercatorlaan: 8 places
  • Diksmuidestraat: 6 places

New: Plan Accessible Ostend

To ensure that our beautiful city remains liveable, accessible and safe, a new plan comes into effect in the old city centre as of 8 June 2023. Two major axes divide the historic centre into four parts, thus creating 4 zones which together form the city centre. In each of these zones, the focus is placed on a liveable and accessible environment. Car drivers who want to go from one zone to another can do so via the Leopold II-laan, the Van Iseghemlaan, the Visserskaai or the Vindictivelaan. These measures will prevent unnecessary traffic by those seeking their way about, while ensuring everyone gets to their destination in the city centre in an easier and faster way.
