These hotspots in Mariakerke are not to be missed!
Mariakerke is located right next to the city centre. In addition to tranquility, this suburb of Ostend also offers a lot of great food. We asked the Ostend City Queens about their favourite places in Mariakerke.
Bistroom De Baron
Go to Bistroom De Baron for delicious pasta in a homely setting. That can be taken very literally. When you and your companion order the same pasta, a large bowl is put on the table from which you scoop on your own plate. The drinks menu is also very extensive. A selection of over 40 gins and around 100 beers should quench any thirst. Bistroom De Baron is also a great place to relax in the afternoon, just to have a drink on the sunny terrace with a view of the dunes.

Bierrestaurant Heerlijk
This beer restaurant can be found just outside Mariakerke, near the airport. Here you can taste all the Trappist beers and a very wide range of old Geuzes. In addition to classics such as a tasty steak, sole, or one of their scampi preparations, they also offer surprisingly innovative treats such as pork cheeks cooked in Rodenbach or crème brûlée enriched with Bock beer, a chocolate mousse with Blue Chimay or a delicious Sabayon prepared with Rochefort 10 trappist.
