Texas

Kursaal Oostende - Mon 18 Oct 2021

Texas is a Scottish pop rock band from Glasgow, featuring Sharleen Spiteri, Ally McErlaine, Johnny McElhone, Eddie Campbell, Tony McGovern, Michael Bannister and Ross McFarlane, best known for tracks such as Say What You Want and Black Eyed Boy.

Formed in 1986, they released their debut album, ‘Southside’, in 1989, which hit #3 in the UK Albums Chart. The band’s second album, ‘Mothers Heaven’, came out in 1991, followed by ‘Ricks Road’, in 1993, but it was their third release, ‘White on Blonde’, which came in 1997, that gave the band their biggest success, reaching #1 in the chart. ‘The Hush’ was released in 1999, ‘Careful What You Wish For’, in 2003, and ‘Red Book’ in 2005, before the band went on hiatus. They returned in 2013, with ‘The Conversation’, which saw them shoot straight back into the Top 5. The band released their latest album, ‘Jump on Board’, in April 2017.
