Another must-see for Ensor enthusiasts: the James Ensor Monument
For those who admire Ensor, his presence can be felt throughout Ostend — even in its public spaces. A notable example is the James Ensor Monument, a bust of the artist created by Brussels sculptor Edmond de Valeriola. In 1930, the city of Ostend presented it to Ensor as a tribute.
Originally placed in the gardens of the old Kursaal, the monument was relocated to Leopold Park after the Second World War, where it still stands today.
