We love a nice pub. If the walls of 't Botteltje could talk, we're sure they'd have many stories to tell! 't Botteltje serves no fewer than 300 beers (on tap and in the bottle) making it the leading beer pub of the Belgian seaside. The neo-classical building dates from the end of the nineteenth, early twentieth century.Read more
Are you looking for one of the most authentic places in the city? Try 't Waterhuis, Ostend's oldest café. They serve snacks and meals, but the main reason for coming here is the establishment's history. 't Waterhuis supplied the city with water, which was stored in a gigantic reservoir under the house, from 1632 onwards. How fascinating!Read more
We always go just a bit weak at the knees when we hear the name "Brasserie Du Parc". Whether you're from Ostend, a wash-ashore or a tourist, Du Parc always rings a bell. It's the favourite establishment of everyone who loves beauty and peace and quiet, in an oldskool brasserie setting.Read more
De Grote Post is another building for which we have a soft spot. This building from 1953 (designed by the architect G. Eysselinck) is now a busy cultural centre. Everything is just perfect here: the organic ingredients, the coffee, the atmosphere and even the chairs. They serve a copious breakfast and late snacks after performances. We wouldn't mind being locked up here for the day (and night).Read more
