Maurice Antony is undoubtedly the most famous Ostend photographer. With his photos he presented an artistic report of the eventful period of World War I and the subsequent years of the Ostend interwar period. Moreover, his friendship with painter James Ensor yielded an exceptional art-historical treasure of photographs of the master in his daily life. The exhibition presents an overview of the oeuvre of Maurice Antony with a focus on the sea and the beach, the Kursaal and the hotels, fishing, the port, artists and social life.
