MetaRelax® Ostend Night Run 2018

On Saturday, September 22, the fourth edition of the MetaRelax® Ostend Night Run will take place. At 8 pm, at sunset, on the promenade near Kursaal Oostende the starting gun will be fired for three distances (7 km, 14 km and 21 km) and a Kids Run. Companies can register for the Company Challenge.

SANDSCULPTURE FESTIVAL Artists from all over the world create a fairytale world out of sand, with the most beloved characters of Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel in the lead roles. Discover this exceptional exhibition, full of emotions and adventure, and experience the magic of the 25th anniversary of Disneyland® Paris on the beach of Ostend. About 40 artists from 12 different countries create a sculpture gallery of over 10,000 m², out of no less than 240 trucks with cave sand from the Ardennes. The giant sculptures with a height between 2 and 12 meters are resistant to all weather conditions. Specially designed paths ensure that the festival is fully wheelchair accessible. The walking trail is about 1 kilometer long. A visit takes about one hour.

In 'Fusillade Nationale', the fifth exhibition of the Spilliaert House, guest curator Patrick Florizoone takes an associative look at Léon Spilliaert's oeuvre. Through various ensembles, we get acquainted with the many themes connecting Spilliaert and his oeuvre with Ostend, with contemporaries such as James Ensor and Hans Arp and also with contemporary artists such as John Baldessari and Gerhard Richter. In the second part of the exhibition, the curator invites you by means of an experimental set-up to enter into a dialogue with Léon Spilliaert. Only open on weekends and during Belgian school holidays.
