Ensor Dreams of mother-of-pearl

After 10 years, the Ensor collection of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp is once again visible, not in Antwerp, but in Ostend, the hometown of James Ensor.  In recent years, the Antwerp Ensor collection has been exhibited in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Basel, Copenhagen and Utrecht, and now in Ostend!

Fusillade Nationale. Léon Spilliaert in dialogue, with you.

In 'Fusillade Nationale', the fifth exhibition of the Spilliaert House, guest curator Patrick Florizoone takes an associative look at Léon Spilliaert's oeuvre. Through various ensembles, we get acquainted with the many themes connecting Spilliaert and his oeuvre with Ostend, with contemporaries such as James Ensor and Hans Arp and also with contemporary artists such as John Baldessari and Gerhard Richter. In the second part of the exhibition, the curator invites you by means of an experimental set-up to enter into a dialogue with Léon Spilliaert.
