Anyone who has seen the original film, from 1983, agrees That “Flashdance” is a really romantic story. Alex is a young woman, who leads an interesting double life, working as a welder in a steel plant by day and a dancer in a club by night. She dreams of being admitted to a prestigious ballet school. With the support of her former ballet teacher Hannah, she works tirelessly to achieve her dream but a romance with her boss Nick suddenly threatens to undermine her ambitions.
2. Timeless music
What makes films like Flashdance so special are the iconic hit songs this motion picture spawned. Because you can’t deny that “Flashdance - What a Feeling” and “Maniac” are extremely memorable. And the electrifying dance music will haul you out of your seats in no time. Which is exactly the point of Flashdance The Musical. Flashdance The Musical also means “What you see is what you get” and in the case of “Flashdance” this also means you may get wet. Of course, we’re talking about Alex’s iconic water drop scene. Ann Van den Broeck will play Hannah, Alex’s mentor, in Flashdance The Musical. Hannah is a former prima ballerina and Alex’s mentor. She helps Alex prepare for her grand audition with the prestigious Shipley Dance Academy.
