What?

This originally neoclassical building started off as Hôtel du Suède and comprised four storeys. In 1902 a new floor was added and a bar and counters for the Maurice Elleboudt Bank installed on the ground floor. The name ‘Hotel du Parc’ dates from 1906. Around 1928 the building was renovated once again by the architect Joseph Van der Banck from Oostende with two new storeys and with paraments on the façade in art-deco style. In WW II Hotel du Parc was claimed as a residence for the Kommandatur. The hotel-restaurant was reopened after the war. Façades and interior (mirrors panelling, lighting, floor and refreshment bar) are all in pure art-deco style.
